Something written long ago nearly forgotten till now

what has this country turned to? the people that marched with Dr. King are now the most conservitive people in this country. We are fighting another war we cannot win, and no one is standing up against the war. What happened to the sixties? did it mean nothing? We came over to this country for freedom, but instead we are sending off kids to go die for something that people are against. I am not anti government or our troups, just this war. Who will be the next Dr. King? Who will step foward and do something and bring pride back to this country? We are the big bully on the block, and other countries dont like us, even before this war, and now we are losing allies that we have always had. The land of the Free? how can we be free when no one stands up for their own freedom? We need to take a look at what our parents generation did and learn from it cause "If you want to end war and stuff you got to sing loud." (Arlo Guthrie, Alice's Restruarant). But those are just my thoughts, it seems like no one else is willing to stand up for what they believe in their hearts any more...

I Will Not Stand Down

I will not stand down. I will fight for what I believe is right. This country does need change, it needs another movement. However up to this time I never considered myself as a leader. Now I am stepping up. I am going to organize an event. It will be strictly peaceful and NON VIOLENT! I am not sure of the details but it will most likely be in D.C. some time over the summer. If you have a grievence or a problem against the United States from health care, to the war, to education or anything else, I call you out to join me and show the government that the people still care and we will not go without a fight! As i have said it will be peaceful and a lot of thought will go into it and if I am the only person there that is ok with me because ONE person can make a difference. One person can alter history, are you willing to step up and be part of that change?

On a similer but different note check out this video its 20 minutes long but well worth it and deals with one of the issues i want to change: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/66

Starting A Movement

Our country needs more then just a new president, it needs another revolution, it needs another sixties, 1/20/09 will only change things in the short run, however if our generation and those generations around us ban together and fight for a cause we can change history. We need to get out there and speak our minds. The government should be afraid of us, and we should never be afraid of the government. Under the First Amendment of the Constitution it says we are allowed to say our greivences and meet peacably. Also we are allowed to petition the government for redress of grievances whic no one is doing. We need to stand up to our government and just say no or ask why. I am not a terrorist, I am just anti our Government. Since the 1970's the United States Government has been going down hill. Act today, if you have a problem, or a grievence or something, say so. Dont just sit around and do nothing and think about it. Go out there and speak your mind, do. What can one person do against a government? Everything. People too often think some one else will do it, but no one else can do it but you. The singular person needs to stand up and the more singulars taht stand up will unite and become one. The bigger the movement the more powerful it becomes and then we can finally get some change around here. Stop sitting around and speak out and do something about it. Stop thinking someone else will do it and stop thinking about what will happen because of the government. The government can stop a person but it cannot stop an idea or a movement, all it can do is slow it down. I am willing to fight for change, are you?
